English practice #10

I watched an amazing film called "Flipped". it was recommended by my friend too.

this film is about two children who fell in love with each other but sometimes feelings are so complicated.

some good words, of course:

a mortal enemy — a very serious and dangerous enemy

bid — to offer a particular amount of money for something that is for sale and compete against other people to buy it, especially at a public sale of goods or property

flip — to become uncontrollably angry, crazy, or excited

a perpetual motion — an imaginary indefinitely active device

a wad — a thick pile of pieces of paper, especially paper money

take its/a toll — If something takes its/a toll, it causes suffering, deaths, or damage

coward — a person who is not brave and is too eager to avoid danger, difficulty, or pain

to dodge — to avoid being hit by something by moving quickly to one side

an undertaking — a job, business, or piece of work

to take ends meet — it is difficult to cope with financial difficulties, to balance between income and expenses.

iridescent — showing many bright colors that change with movement

to mow — to cut plants, such as grass or wheat, that have long, thin stems and grow close together

to duck down — to move your head or the top part of your body quickly down, especially to avoid being hit

grudge — a strong feeling of anger and dislike for a person who you feel has treated you badly, especially one that lasts for a long time

timid — shy and nervous; without much confidence; easily frightened

dazzling — A dazzling light is so bright that you cannot see for a short time after looking at it

to strut around — to walk somewhere with big steps in a proud way
